Mesh bases and wooden accessories

Maintenance tips

You can remove spots from mesh bases and wooden accessories by using a damp cloth and a mild cleaning agent. Never use a scourer or abrasives. Occasionally dust the mesh base and the frame.

Because of Auping's concern for the environment, the product is finished with a powder coating. In the first weeks after purchase, some coating dust may be found under the bed. This is harmless and can be easily removed.

Your bed can withstand robust treatment. But nevertheless, scratches can never be completely avoided. Luckily you can make minor damage almost completely invisible using a special lacquer pen. Lacquer pens can be ordered through your Auping dealer.

Boxsprings

Maintenance tips

Gebruik zo min mogelijk water. Gebruik geen bleekwater of andere bijtende stoffen.

Mattresses

Maintenance tips

Mattresses and duvets always get a little damp; this is due to the perspiration given off during sleep. It is therefore recommended that you air your bed and duvet every day.

It is best to fold the duvet double at the foot end of the bed after getting up. The mattress and the underside of the duvet, which are in most contact with the body, can dry easily this way. Leave the bed like this for a couple of hours; it might not look so neat, but it will be nice and fresh! Auping also has a range of mattresses with built-in heating. If you turn this type of mattress onto the highest setting for a while during the day, all of the moisture will evaporate.

Regularly check the mattress for damage or wear. Immediately contact the supplier if you detect any damage. If there are stains on the mattress, you can usually simply remove them by following our instructions on how to remove spots and stains. Stand the mattress on its side when cleaning and use as little water as possible. Do not use bleach or other corrosive agents. Allow the mattress to dry thoroughly after cleaning.

The mattress is covered in ticking. Some Auping mattresses have removable ticking. This can be cleaned; it is recommended that you do this annually. Velour ticking must be dry-cleaned, knitted ticking can be washed in the washing machine.

Duvets

Maintenance tips

Your Auping duvet has a guaranteed long life. If you give it some extra attention once in a while, you will be able to enjoy it even longer.

For instance, it is good to regularly air your duvet. Duvets, in particular those filled with down, attract moisture. Therefore, only air a duvet in the open air if there is no moisture in the air. Furthermore, duvets should not be hung in the full sun. The sun has a negative effect on the filling and can cause the ticking to discolour.

Dust is best removed using a soft brush. Never use a vacuum cleaner! It can damage the ticking and cause the filling to be sucked through the duvet ticking.

Synthetic duvets can be washed in the washing machine at a maximum temperature of 60°C. This temperature ensures that any house dust mites that are present will be killed.

Down duvets can be washed, but only do so if it is really necessary. It is important to use a wool detergent (alkaline-free), otherwise you will damage the filling.

Your down duvet can be spun in the spin dryer without problem. It can also be safely put in the dryer at a maximum temperature of 60°C. Give it a good shake afterwards to recover the volume; your duvet will remain comfortably warm and thick. Alternatively, you can put a tennis ball in your dryer with your duvet; this will ensure that your Maestro down duvet becomes light and airy again.

Note: never bleach, iron or dry-clean your down duvet! For more detailed washing instructions, refer to the label.

Pillows

Maintenance tips

Your Auping pillow has a guaranteed long life. If you pay it a little extra attention once in a while, you will be able to enjoy it even longer.

For instance, it is good to regularly air your pillow, but never in bright sun light. The sun has a negative impact on the down and latex filling and can cause the ticking to discolour.

Dust can best be removed using a soft brush. Never use a vacuum cleaner! It can damage the ticking and cause the filling to be 'sucked through' the pillow ticking.

Synthetic pillows can be washed in the washing machine at a maximum temperature of 60°C. This temperature ensures that any house dust mites that are present will be killed.

Down and feather pillows can be washed, but only do so if it is really necessary. It is important to use a wool detergent (alkaline-free), otherwise you will damage the down or feather filling.

Your down or feather pillow can be spun in the spin dryer without problem and can also safely be put in the dryer, at a maximum temperature of 60°C.

Give it a good shake after drying, to recover the volume. Alternatively, you can put a tennis ball in your dryer with your pillow. This ensures that your down or feather pillow becomes light and airy again.

Note: never bleach, iron or dry-clean your down or feather pillow! When washing the Maestro pillow, do not forget to first remove the Talalay-latex neck support; this cannot be washed!

The Latex pillow filling is not washable, but the removable ticking of Auping latex pillows can easily be washed at a maximum temperature of 40°C.

Stretch out the ticking somewhat after washing, so that it returns to the correct size. Then put the latex filling back in. For more detailed washing instructions, refer to the label.
