Your Auping pillow has a guaranteed long life. If you pay it a little extra attention once in a while, you will be able to enjoy it even longer. For instance, it is good to regularly air your pillow, but never in bright sun light. The sun has a negative impact on the down and latex filling and can cause the ticking to discolour. Dust can best be removed using a soft brush. Never use a vacuum cleaner! It can damage the ticking and cause the filling to be 'sucked through' the pillow ticking. Synthetic pillows can be washed in the washing machine at a maximum temperature of 60°C. This temperature ensures that any house dust mites that are present will be killed. Down and feather pillows can be washed, but only do so if it is really necessary. It is important to use a wool detergent (alkaline-free), otherwise you will damage the down or feather filling. Your down or feather pillow can be spun in the spin dryer without problem and can also safely be put in the dryer, at a maximum temperature of 60°C. Give it a good shake after drying, to recover the volume. Alternatively, you can put a tennis ball in your dryer with your pillow. This ensures that your down or feather pillow becomes light and airy again. Note: never bleach, iron or dry-clean your down or feather pillow! When washing the Maestro pillow, do not forget to first remove the Talalay-latex neck support; this cannot be washed! The Latex pillow filling is not washable, but the removable ticking of Auping latex pillows can easily be washed at a maximum temperature of 40°C. Stretch out the ticking somewhat after washing, so that it returns to the correct size. Then put the latex filling back in. For more detailed washing instructions, refer to the label.
