Auping never ceases its studying of the human body with a view to continually innovating its products and so optimising the match between bed and body. Research has shown that adding a fifth motor to the Royal mesh base optimises support for the body. The fifth motor provides extra support to the lower back. The bed perfectly follows the curvature of the human body. Auping calls this the eXtra BackSupport (XBS®). Auping’s showpiece has been equipped with two further innovations in the form of a fully-featured infrared remote control and the option of setting the bed to a practical cleaning position.
With the XBS® Auping has introduced an additional adjustment point that provides extra support to the lower back. The curvature of the body is now followed even more closely, both when lying on your side and on your back. No better support and relief is possible. The five motors provide smooth adjustability for the neck, upper and lower back and upper and lower legs. The result is both an ideal sitting position and an ideal sleeping position. And the Individual MeasurementSystem (IMS) ensures a completely tailored fit. After measuring the upper leg, the Royal mesh base is made to measure and will bend in exactly the same place where each individual body does. That is why every Royal has a unique number.
Infrared remote control The Auping Royal now comes with a cordless infrared remote control. One push of the memory buttons will automatically set the bed to the best sitting or sleeping position – which can of course be completely adjusted to suit personal preferences. The sync-button will if required simultaneously reset all ten motors of both beds. The handset also makes it possible to switch off the radio or light from the bed. Programming is another option and will turn the remote control into an alarm clock. As a practical extra feature, the handset can even be used as a torch!
Cleaning position The cleaning position makes it easy to vacuum clean under the bed. The foot end unit and the back piece are raised by a single push of a button, helping to ensure that the Royal provides a comfortable and clean night’s sleep. And that is essential: the Elsevier Sleep survey of August 2007 shows that 94% of people consider ventilation to be important in a bed, and the score for hygiene is as high as 95%.
