Perspiration
Moisture from perspiration evaporates on the skin and so causes a drop in body temperature. The perspiration process continues all day and night. Research has shown that on average people lose around 350 cc moisture per night, moisture which must be wicked away by the mattress or duvet. Ventilation is therefore very important to prevent the bed from feeling damp. A damp bed provides a breeding ground for bacteria and fungi which then lead to an unhealthy sleeping climate.

AVS: Active Ventilation and Support
The underside of the mattress must be able to release the moisture that is absorbed by the top of the mattress. The mesh base is the most open type of bed base and ensures optimum ventilation. Coupled with the Auping AVS mattress, the mesh base provides the ideal combination as the AVS mattress has also been developed using a number of materials that each contribute to the ventilation process. The abbreviation AVS refers to the ventilation and support provided by the mesh base and mattress: Active Ventilation and Support.

Optimum pressure reduction
Auping is continually exploring ways in which it can contribute to relieving back, neck and spinal problems and has come up with the perfect solution: the AVS Visco mattress for optimum pressure reduction. By combining the AVS Visco mattress with the AVS mesh base with Comfortslide®, the advantages of pressure reduction can be fully utilised. The ingenious Comfortslide® system enables the firmness of the mesh base to be adjusted to different body types. Everything is aimed at ensuring a perfect and healthy night’s sleep so that you will awake the next day feeling even more fit and healthy.
