A good night's rest ensures that you wake up refreshed and full of life. In turn, a healthy day ensures a good night's rest.

Waking up

Get up at the same time

Get up at the same time every morning (also in the weekend!), irrespective of the number of hours you have slept.

Light

Light has an important influence on waking up well. Scientific research shows that a gradually increasing level of illumination in the morning has a positive effect on the assessment of sleep and leads to a reduction of sleepiness during the day. It is thus a comfortable method of waking up. There are even special alarm clocks available with a light that gradually increases in intensity.

Colour

Colour in the bedroom also plays a role when falling asleep and waking up. Research shows that blue morning light has a stimulating effect, while red evening light is restful.

Airing

It is recommended that you air your bed and duvet every day to achieve a good sleeping climate for the following night. It is best to fold the duvet double at the foot end of the bed after getting up.

Naps

Watch out when taking naps during the day; they prevent some people from getting a good night's sleep. If you find a nap important, take one at a fixed time during the day. Do not sleep for too long during the day.
