Sleeping problems and tips

Waking up

A good night’s sleep ensures that you wake up fresh and full of energy. And a healthy day also ensures a good night’s sleep.

Get up at the same time

Get up at the same time every day (even at the weekend!), regardless how many hours you’ve slept.

Light

Light has a strong influence on waking up properly. Scientific studies have shown that a gradually brightening light in the morning leads to reduced drowsiness during the day, and is therefore a comfortable way to wake up. There are special wake-up lights available on the market that have lights that gradually get brighter.

Colour

The colour in the bedroom also plays a role in falling asleep and waking up. Research has shown that blue light in the morning has a stimulating effect, while red light is restful in the evening.

Airing

We recommend that you air your bed and duvet every day, to ensure a proper sleeping climate for the following night. Ideally, after getting up, you should fold the duvet double, over the foot of the bed.

Naps

Beware afternoon napping: for some people this can make it difficult to get a good night’s sleep. If you value your naps, keep them to a set time. Be sure not to sleep too long during the day.
